Mangrove Runner by Gordorca Mangrove Runner by Gordorca
Taken from a recent boat trip along one of Sabah's extensive mangrove system. Wasn't a particularly eventful trip, but managed to see quite a few new things like river villages, HUGE swimming leeches (7-11 inches!)(According to the locals, they don't feed on human blood strangely), and how crab traps are laid along the river.

Cloned out a few water splashes, messed a wee bit with the curves to bring out a bit more colour to the photo.

11 inch long leeches! 0_0

Remind me not to visit, which is a shame as it looks really nice.

Haha, they creeped us out thoroughly when we saw them at first. Nobody dared to stick their hands out of the boat soon after.

And yeah, it's a nice place! The leeches shouldn't make it a no-go zone if you take the appropriate precautions and such.
